Scope & Updates
This Licensing Policy applies to all digital content, 3D models, articles, images, and videos published by Simuhelm ("we," "us," or "our") unless otherwise noted.
We may update or modify this policy at any time, and the latest version will always be available on this page.
1. General Website Copyright & Ownership
All content on https://simuhelm.com, including the Simuhelm name, logo, website design, written text, code, and graphics (excluding the 3D models and associated files), is protected under standard copyright law and is the exclusive property of Simuhelm.
All rights are reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, display, or otherwise use this content without the express written permission of Simuhelm.
The name "Simuhelm" and its associated logo are trademarks of Simuhelm and may not be used without prior written consent.
2. 3D Model Licensing Policy (Creative Commons)
All 3D models, accompanying 3D Model files, textures, annotations, and related data (collectively, "the Models") are released for public use under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license.
Permissions and Requirements
- Attribution (BY): You must give appropriate credit to the original creator and Simuhelm.
- Non-Commercial (NC): The Models may only be used for educational, academic, and personal purposes. Commercial use is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to selling or licensing the Models, or incorporating them into paid simulators, training courses, or any effort intended to generate revenue.
- ShareAlike (SA): If you remix, adapt, or build upon a Model, you must distribute your new creation under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
Required Attribution:
When using any Model, you must cite the source clearly as: Simuhelm Contributors, Simuhelm.com, Licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
3. Educational Articles and Videos
Unless otherwise stated, all articles, diagrams, and videos produced by Simuhelm are released under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to share and adapt these materials for non-commercial educational purposes, provided that proper credit is given to Simuhelm and any modified work is shared under the same license.
Safety and Technical Disclaimer
A. Educational Use Only: The Models are intended as supplementary visualization tools and must not be used as a substitute for official flag state or class society documentation, manufacturer's instructions, or certified training materials. They are not certified and should not be relied upon for operational or safety-critical decisions onboard any vessel.
B. Accuracy and Warranties: All content is provided "as is" and "as available." Simuhelm makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the Models or information provided.
C. Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Simuhelm, its founders, and contributors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claim (direct, indirect, or consequential) arising from the use of, or reliance upon, the Models or information on this website. Users assume all risks associated with their use.
4. Contributor Submission Terms
By submitting 3D models, data, or media to Simuhelm, you confirm that you are the original creator and agree to release the submitted work for public distribution by Simuhelm under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. You understand that the submitted work will always remain freely available for non-commercial educational use.
